MindShift started with humble beginnings in 2021 when LeapEd entered a UNICEF Malaysia social impact challenge. Their pitch aimed to revolutionise mental health support for Malaysian children, driven by a belief in the transformative power of schools and teachers. Winning the challenge catapulted them into action, launching a pilot program in 2022 with Institut Pendidikan Guru Malaysia and 30 dedicated teachers supported by Bahagian Pengurusan Sekolah Harian (BPSH). By 2023, MindShift gained momentum with PPB Properties sponsoring an additional 60 teachers in Kedah and Kuala Lumpur. Today, with the support of Yayasan Hasanah, MindShift reaches a further 180 teachers in 60 Schools.

The toolkit developed through this journey is now freely available to any teacher or school eager to use research-led materials to enhance the mental health and well-being of young people in their community.

MindShift continues to grow, empowering educators across Malaysia to create nurturing environments so that every child in Malaysia can have a great future.
